Najmeddine was subject to a Disciplinary Hearing in 2014 regarding two counts of Insubordination and one count of Discreditable Conduct, after leaving his loaded gun in an unlocked locker in a room accessible to civilians at the Zebra Child Protection Centre on multiple occasions. One count of Insubordination was stayed, and Najmeddine was suspended without pay for 40 and 20 hours respectively on the other two charges.
